LOOKING πŸ‘€πŸ‘€

I walked into my room and noticed something odd. My very reliable Nokia torchlight phone was on the ground. That was odd. I didn't drop it on the ground. I left it on the bed.
What happened? I wondered as I picked it up. Lo and behold, the screen was broken! Not cracked. Broken. As if something had hit it.

Ha! But I made and received several calls the day before. I didn't notice anything strange. What could have happened??

Na baff I go baff fa, no be farm I go -  I'd only gone to take a bath, not to the farm.
Anyway, there was nobody around so I couldn't ask anyone. I concluded it must have happened without me realising. I dropped the matter so I wouldn't get agitated for nothing.

I was still a bit pensive while trying to moisturise my feet when Shamah came around.
He knocks on my door, comes in after I beckon him, followed by Hauwa and before I say anything, he asks,
"Auntie do you want tea?"
Huh! Just like that? Shamah, offering me tea without me asking? Something is not adding up.

So I ask him, "What did you do?"
"Nothing," he replies, smiling.
"Taaaah! Tell me now! You must have done something to be offering me tea just like that!"
He insists nothing is up, so I let him be.
I was not convinced.

I turned to Hauwa, his accomplice and bestie.
"What did he do?" "Nothing," she replies, smiling too.
Hmmm... Okay oooo. I hear you (in Nigerian pidgin).
"Thanks for the offer, but I don't want tea at the moment. Just get me water." Then they leave.

You see, I call myself  Buzu - those people from the Niger Republic who look like Fulani. They have this special tea (sha'i) they make and take virtually all the time. I can take tea all day, every day.
Some say I'm addicted to the caffeine in black tea. Maybe I am. I take it a lot, morning, noon and night.
Most of the time, Shamah makes the tea for me at my request. That was why his offering to do it on his own felt odd.

A few minutes later, I heard them whispering outside, just by my window. I tried listening in, but couldn't make out what they were saying. My FBI instincts came alive. See, I was convinced, more than ever, that something was up. I went  closer to hear better, but all I heard was, "Let me just tell her the truth." Hmmm...
I was still wondering...

I spoke out, "Hauwa, what are you people discussing?" And they froze!  "What did he do?"
As I asked, a bell went off in my head. My phone!
Aha!!! No wonder!
"Shamah, who broke my phone?" He was quietly smiling.
"Okay oh." I suddenly didn't have the energy for interrogation. I just left the window and finished dressing up.

Then he comes in later and starts to tell me one story. I just looked at him, speechless. Bhikan had to ask,
"Did something fall on the phone or did it fall on something?"
This boy wanted to use both our heads! Haba mana! Nobe today fa!
He finally said exactly what happened. In fact, his accomplice, Hauwa, was involved.

He had come into my room to play the game on my phone! My phone fa! So, while trying to stop him, she used her long chain which has a crystal bead to try to scare him. The bead hit the screen of the phone, causing it to break
To confuse me further, he'd kept it, face down, on the floor to make me think I'd mistakenly dropped it.
πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ƒ

Chei!!! Small pikin sense! He thought he could scam me into thinking it was I  who dropped the phone. Unfortunately, my advantage (age, knowledge, experience, sixth sense) outweighed his childishness.

I couldn't do anything to him. The talk seff, I couldn't talk much. I just looked at him and kept quiet.

After all, too much talk/scolding doesn't always work. I liked the fact that he didn't know what my next action would be. He's still waiting for his punishment but I've moved on jare.

Don't always be predictable. Let them wonder what your action/reaction would be! πŸ˜ƒπŸ™

Cheers.
