NOSTALGIA

I woke up that day feeling I needed to do some rearranging in my room. Where do I start from ??
Dresser! Yes!

The drawers first.
My jewellery have been scattered. My mother would have had a heart attack on sighting their state.
They were still in their boxes and in the drawer assigned to them, but I haven't really used any serious jewellery in the last six months or more.
They are crying for love. Clean me.. change my position.. just lift me and place me back in there...
Anyway, I open the drawer and start to box and rebox as well as organise.

Usually, when I do this, I give out more than half of my jewellery. I have never used upto half of the jewelry I have at a time. It's always overwhelming for me, changing them. I would stick with one for weeks on end before changing.
How do people manage so many? "Is it easy for you? Changing jewelry daily?"

Well, I bring out the first chain and realise, "Mummy gave this to me."
I bring out another, "Still mummy."
Ha! 95% of my jewellery  came from her!
Jesu!
I don't know how to buy jewelry. I've never had to; she always sorted me out.
Where do I start from?

3% are gifts I got. I managed to buy maybe 2%?
All sentiments and emotional attachments multiplied. I suddenly couldn't give out any.
I just want to keep them close to my heart, in memory of my mother.

Some will be passed on to my daughter.
I now understand why jewellery is passed on from one generation to the next in some families. It's a tradition I intend to start.
It's something she would have loved.

I can give out from the 5% but the ones given to me by my Mum? No vex. I'm even more sentimental now than ever before.

Sorry Joy. I thought I had worked on my sentiments. But...

Of course you can guess how my day went from then.

What is it that someone has given to you that you cannot afford to part with? Or, am I the only one with sentimental attachments?

Share with me, please. 🙇🙇

HAPPY EASTER!
