ADDICTIONS

Do you have any addictions?

Not necessarily a social vice kinda addiction.
I mean the habits you have formed over the years...
Things you can't go a day without doing...

Well, I have some. I'll share a few. Please feel free to share yours in the comment section πŸ™

*First Addiction*
Tea.
BLACK TEA.
Emphasis on BLACK.

YES!!
Black Tea. Hmmm... I can't remember where or when it started, I probably inherited the love for tea from my Dad... but I can take tea for Africa sha! It's not as if I take it with milk oooooh. I rarely do milk. It's mostly black tea.
And I like it steaming hot! It can be very sweet, mildly sweet or not sweet at all. I can take it with lemon, honey, ginger, cloves or a combination of all of them put together. Just bring them to a boil and drink. The fragrance that will engulf your house ehnn...
Exotic!!
Drink your tea and also enjoy the fragrance.
Thank me later!

People would normally drink water when eating. Not me.
I never drink water when eating, till I'm done. Except on those rare moments when the food goes through a wrong passage and I'm forced to drink water to push it...
I'd rather have a cup of tea with my food, no matter what the food is.

On days I fast? Jesus! When I break, I do it with a few cups of sha'i😁 before I consider eating anything. Of course, I'll drink a few more cups before going to bed.

That's why I especially love moments when I'm able to visit Jos. That town is filled with my fellow "tea drinkers." Daddy Jambol has a million and one different types of tea, ranging from black to green to even red teaπŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ƒ. Not to mention herbal tea and beverages.

I remember when we visited certain homes in Jos, we were offered tea, as against soft drinks. That's the life menn!!
Maybe I'm meant to be a Jos girl!
Just maybeπŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰!

I've been called Buzu (people from the Niger Republic) who brew a special type of tea(Sha'i). They can also drink tea all day sha ooo, with no time restriction.
I've also been called a Briton,πŸ˜„πŸ˜„ all for the love of Tea.
Well!!!

*My second Addiction?*
Hmmmmm!

Robb.
Yes, you read right! ROBB (It's a type of hot balm ointment, used to treat aches and pains).
There are different types of hot balms. Some are hotter than Robb, others milder. Robb is it for me.

Afa once asked me, "Who is your supplier? God knows I am opened with you, so how come you are yet to tell me who supplies you"
Huh😲😲!
Meanwhile, I have never even see cocaine before.
I've also been asked, "Do you have a cold?" When I said "no," they said, "ngwanu (so), why are you sniffing?"

Once I use it, I must sniff, maybe to confirm its potency or heat level. hehe

A friend came to check on me one day like that. I kept touching my nose and sniffing some dry "sniffs"😁
He kept asking, "Are you okay?"
When it became too much, he asked again, "Are you sure you are okay? I don't understand why you keep sniffing, and it's dry."

That's how I had to confess.
"My Robb is finished and all the shops around were out of stock. I have to go towards the market to get it"
Oh Jesus! His expression? Priceless!!

Shock! Disbelief!

"Robb? Did you say, Robb?? You mean if I buy Robb for you now, you will be okay?"
"Yes," I said.
"Oya, let's go get Robb. Enter the car."
Na so we go find Robb ooooh.
See immediate relief!

When he came around another time, he brought a nylon (cellophane) bag 😝 full of Robb "So you can have more than enough for a long time," he said.

I became concerned when he was transferred out of town. What if I run out of supply and no one cares enough or is willing to ensure I get a refill? What will happen to me😎😎?

So I tried for a week to go without it. I took deliberate steps to break the addiction that is, not because I was out of supply, but because I wanted to break the addiction.
But...
I hate to feel like my nostrils are dry. I love to just grease them with Robb. That cool feeling after the application is soothing.

I've tried to use vaseline, shea butter... The feeling is not the same.

I keep going back to Robb.

Will I ever stop? Maybe. Maybe not.

Until then.

Make an effort to stop what you can, especially if it's not beneficial to you!
Seek help if it's harmful to you and those around you!!
Above all, extend a helping hand to those battling one form of addiction or the other!!!

So help me God.πŸ™‡πŸ™‡
Did I hear you all say "Amen" πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰
