Swatkasa

I knew Kaliat lived in Barnawa GRA before we moved there but we had never jam (hadn't seen), so it was quite exciting seeing her at the junction leading into the GRA.
"Yaaaayyyy"  We screamed and hugged. We were still having chitchat when this lovely lady that looked like us 😂😃 walked up to us and said,  "I thought I was alone but sighting you guys,  I know I'm not alone. I have sisters" and smiled while saying that. Her smile was contagious and Kaliat being the friendlier one amongst us answered her, "sure, you are not alone".

Why did she call us sisters? She found her fellow "orobo" sisters, (plus size that is).😀😁😂

She went her way, Kaliat and I finished catching up and then went our separate ways as well.

I didn't see this babe again till a few weeks later. I was either on my way out or heading home, can't remember. We sha met at the same spot, by Audu's kiosk at the junction leading into Barnawa GRA popularly known as and called "Gidan Sama".

She was so calm, we chatted a little and she asked where my house was. After giving her the description she was like,
"Gidan su Bii (the house Bii stays)"?
"Yes", I replied
"I know your house, we are pals with your mum. I sometimes visit her".
You can guess my reaction. To say I was shocked is an understatement. She had been coming to my house and we have never met?

Kim!!
Na wa for you ooo!
Her house was two houses away from mine. TWO!  And I'd never seen her.
Or...
Maybe I have passed by her without noticing. I can look straight like that.
She promised to check on me and true to her words, she did a few days later.

Thank God she talks more than I do as I would have been lost for what to discuss with her.
We talked for a couple of hours and she got up to leave. I saw her off and felt glad that I had made a friend in my neighbourhood.

Making friends is not as easy for me as it is for others. I could live in a place for years and not make a single friend.
All the friends I've made in my life is/was deliberate attempt from them.
Is it that I don't like people? On the contrary, I love people. I love having people around me. I may not say much but I relish their presence.

Does that mean I don't talk? Like I'm mute or something? Mbaaaaa (Nooòoo)! I do talk. A lot sometimes 😂
Some people know me as an introvert while some will never believe that. The truth is, I have my moments!
My talking depends on;
How comfortable I am with you, around you and, If your topic interests me. Other factors may apply though but I'm generally a reserved person.

This post is not meant to be about me, so, back to Swat.
A few days later I reciprocated. I visited her! Me! Again this is a big deal for me. Visiting someone...
WOW!
That day mummy (her mum) made goat meat pepper soup( spicy soup cooked with goat meat).
Delicious!
I tried to be a visitor but mummy wouldn't have it. That's the behaviour of the average Southern Kaduna mum. You must eat!

So, I partook in the pepper soup.
From that visit, I found out that our mothers knew each other from way back, my cousin (Bii) was friends with her brother.

As I sat there I also realised I'd been to that house before, a few years back when their dad passed on. I didn't know any of them, I'd just gone to do the "neighbour thingy".

Well, that visit birthed a very interesting friendship, which I have been trying to tell you about here but somehow, I kept digressing, so, take a chill pill. I'll continue my story about Swat in another post.

P.S
