I'm Certified! ! !

 

Writing has always been more than a passion for me. It is my life.

It was a hobby, which has grown into a career. 

I started from writing letters to scribbling down random thoughts from my mind and communicating. I found out that I express myself more in writing than in words. 

When I started to take it seriously, I knew I would have to go beyond blogging and social media posts, because I have lined up stories playing in my head to be told.

I purposed in my heart to get published this year, but I had no idea where to start from.

While in search of direction, I had a conversation with TY on the first steps to take. 

Then a very dear lady, Pastor Olufunke Malomo, sent me a link to a basic course on e-book creation and publishing on Amazon. 

That could have only been by the spirit of God. I wondered how she thought of me, out of the random people in her phone book. 

Or probably, she noticed my style of writing? Thank you madam!

I did not hesitate in joining the basic course via the link.

I realised that it was more than guidelines on how or what to do in writing.

There was a lot of practicality and technicalities involved. Gosh!

I found myself staying up late into the night, and sometimes early hours of the morning, just to catch up.

I have slept at 4:30am and even 5:30am just so I could catch up and be up to date.

A few days afterwards, I published my very first e-book, a class assignment. 

Oh, the joy!

Even knowing I would have to unpublish it did not dim the joy and satisfaction. 

Just seeing my name on a book cover as published after the basic course was thrilling!

When the master class was announced, I jumped in and God helped me to meet up. 

Fees were paid, the laptop needed new software and had to be upgraded to a higher one for it to function enough to let me participate.

Phew!!!

Then the Master class started. That introduced a different level altogether. 

It was the basic class multiplied by 100 of pressure, requirement, time, etc.

I reached out to one of my basic class coaches at some point. I was not sure I could cope because it was not fun anymore. He advised that I tried to hold on and follow on. Pick what I could and leave the rest.

I decided to do my best and graduate with a distinction as both my coaches graduated with distinctions too. 

I gave up on a lot just to keep abreast, because there was always one assignment or practical to do. 

Part of it was training others, free, while being assessed. 

Omo. I couldn't fumble na. I just had to make it work. I had made up my mind to meet up, and meet up I did. 

Despite the challenges, I went ahead. 

I finally graduated with a distinction after finishing numerous projects, meeting every target and assignments deadline. 

I am not only certified with a distinction in this profession, but I have also been so empowered, and equally transferred the knowledge to many.

Remember, this training was not without many sacrifices, sleepless nights, time, energy and monetary investments. But today, the sky is just the starting point.
